XHS1400 (C:04+M:04)

Tokyo Onkyo Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the XHS1400, the first model in the new XHS series from its earphone brand Acoustune. Featuring the same detachable earphone system used in upgrade accessories for the HSX1001 series, the XHS1400 offers a new way to experience Acoustune’s signature sound, shaped by years of acoustic expertise. Product demonstrations and pre-orders begin at 11:00 a.m. (JST) on Friday, October 23, 2026, with sales starting on Friday, October 30, 2026.

■ A New Model Combining Acoustune’s Tradition and Innovation

The XHS1400 is the debut model in the new XHS series, designed to deliver a complete, high-quality standalone earphone experience while incorporating the detachable earphone system shared with Acoustune’s HSX1001 series. It inherits the sound concept of the HS1300SS, rooted in the HS1000 series, yet has been developed as an entirely new earphone with next-generation expandability. The XHS1400 brings Acoustune’s tradition and innovation to both longtime fans of its signature sound and listeners discovering the brand for the first time.
Two color options are available: Black and Gold. Despite their contrasting finishes, each features accent details in the other color, resulting in designs that combine a substantial, premium feel with refined elegance.

■ “C:04” Acoustic Chamber with a Lithium-Magnesium Alloy Dome Diaphragm

The C:04 uses aluminum for its housing, balancing rigidity with light weight. Its diaphragm employs Myrinx, Acoustune’s signature diaphragm material, while the dome incorporates a thin-formed lithium-magnesium alloy in a specially developed driver unit. This design produces rich, deep, resonant bass and crisp, sharply defined midrange and treble. The tuning renders even the subtlest musical nuances with both richness and clarity.

■ “M:04” Wired Connection Module

Like the acoustic chamber, the M:04 housing is made of aluminum. Its cable interface features the highly durable and reliable Pentaconn Ear connector. Using the dedicated ARC83 cable, the XHS1400 is ready be used as a wired earphones with a 4.4 mm balanced connection.

■ Also Usable as an Upgrade Accessory for the HSX1001 Series

A defining feature of Acoustune products is their modular construction, which allows the acoustic chamber to be completely separated from the mechanical housing. The XHS1400 uses a detachable earphone system in which the acoustic chamber containing the driver unit can be separated from the wired connection module. This system is compatible with Acoustune’s HSX1001 series. For example, the XHS1400’s C:04 acoustic chamber can be attached to the M:01 wireless module supplied as standard with the HSX1001 Jin -迅-, allowing its sound to be enjoyed wirelessly. The XHS1400 can therefore be enjoyed both as a standalone earphone and as an upgrade accessory for existing HSX1001 series owners.

■ Flexible, Easy-to-Handle “ARC83” Earphone Cable

The included ARC83 cable combines flexibility and ease of handling with excellent durability. Its break-resistant construction provides peace of mind for everyday use. The cable uses oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors and a 4.4 mm five-pole plug. When connected to a device that supports balanced output, it enables high-quality music playback.
The highly reliable Pentaconn Ear (standard-type) connectors significantly reduce the risk of wear from repeated connection and disconnection, as well as contact failures caused by sweat or moisture ingress, helping to prevent unexpected problems. If the cable should break, it can be easily detached and replaced for reliable long-term use. Cable length is approximately 1.2 m.
